Saddle Road Resurfacing, TMT, Military Expansion Were Reasons For Hawaii County DPW’s Directive Blackballing Bloggers ?

Hat tip to Damon Tucker for blogging about Andy Parx’s thoughts about Hawaii County DPW blackballing me, Damon Tucker, and David Corrigan.Andy’s conspiracy theory does have a bit of traction. But overall I think the TMT and the military connections to this directive are tenuous at best. I think the real reason why this directive came about is due to this video of the Saddle Road resurfacing by David Corrigan.

I know David had the best intentions when doing this video. However I think the county took a different view. Especially in light of the revelation Hawaii County breached their contract with HMP Inc and bought asphalt tack coat from Grace Pacific for this project. In Hawaii County’s eyes his video potentially could’ve shown that they breached their contract with HMP.

So how do I get tied into this picture?

For running a simple TMT Poll? I can’t remember anything I posted on Saddle Road?

I think she just doesn’t like my blogging style to be quite honest with you.

Aaron- Noelani strikes me as person who wants control and is power hungry. Thus she doesn’t like anyone who infringes
    on her territory.

Thanks for the response to my comment… but I’m still trying to figure out myself what “territory” as you say… I may have infringed upon?

I’m just a small time dude that has less than 1500 readers a day on my blog.

I don’t ask for the information I publish… I simply copy and paste most of the stuff that is already out there.

There has to be something that brought my name into this… I just can’t pinpoint it.

As you know… I’ve asked for the 6 page directive to be sent to us. I realized… that I probably asked the wrong person for this directive.

It’s late now… this story will not end until I find out WHY MY NAME WAS Blackballed.

(funny how you said a few months ago… that my blogging may harm real “bloggers” or something to that effect… NOW LOOK WHO has gotten who into trouble…. !!! Just teasing Aaron… I know you blog responsibly… it is ironic that you think I’m the shotgun blogger… but now you feel this is because of you!!! AND IT IS!!!!!!

Maybe I just start calling you the Shotgun blogger from now on….lol.

You know I’m playing I hope.

I think for people like Andy, it ALWAYS comes back to the US military, the source of all evil in the world.

Aaron: “…strikes me as person who wants control and is power hungry….”

Damon: “…less than 1500 readers a day on my blog…”

Guys, it’s staring you in the face. Even if we didn’t live on an island, your blogs with hundreds (or thousands) of daily readers are a political issue. Your blogs are probably as widely read — AMONG PEOPLE INTERESTED IN ISLAND POLITICS — as the dailies. And “people interested in island politics” includes, duh, people in the county gov’t. I guarantee that when you guys say something judgmental about county personnel or processes, it’s read by or to the person you’ve judged. And when you say something harsh about something, it stings a lot more than when you say something nice.

Aaron writes more about the road issues on the West Side than anyone; he writes more about it than Stevens Media. That’s an important issue and it involves TENS OF MILLIONS of dollars. Even if Aaron has generally been sympathetic to the challenges faced by the county and contractors, it’s not really a surprise that someone might feel that they don’t want a 30-year-old (happy b’day, Aaron) blogger being the loudest voice on the subject.

Damon posts, what?, 200 articles a day about the fastest-growing district in the island and is not afraid to drop judgment bombs about what is and is not going on. Of course that’s noticed and, again, it’s not surprising that politicians would much prefer the loudest voice on a subject be (a) their own or (b) a newspaper with whose reporters and editorial board they have established a relationship and whose writing reflects the clubby atmosphere of politics-as-usual.

    Aaron and Larry…

I’m copying and pasting what Larry just said above to my blog.

There is a lot of dots out there and I’m not to go at connecting things at times. We need to figure out what is going on.

Keep up the good fight Aaron! What the County is doing to you guys is wrong! While I don’t agree with your politics all the time I can tell you are an honest man and have great respect for you. A lot of us old timers just don’t have the fight in us anymore. I know we should but it’s really great to see the younger generation out there making a difference! You do everyone on this island proud. Thank you!
