WHT finally published Kamuela attorney Margaret Wille excellent commentary questioning the legality of Hawaii County’s fair share system here.I was afraid that WHT wouldn’t re publish it online. However as it turned out they added her commentary online today.
I also need to give a hat tip to attorney Robert Thomas for proactively asking Ms. Wille for permission to republish it here.
Lastly, I sent this e-mail to Bobby Command, Councilwoman Brenda Ford, and DPW director Warren Lee in regards to my concerns about the opening of the partially completed Hokulia bypass tomorrow.
“Aloha Brenda,
I had the opportunity to drive down the Hokulia bypass today. However I was deeply concerned that the asphalt pavement is still incomplete between the top of the Hokulia project and the bottom of Halekii Street. This is an obvious safety issue that may ultimately put the county at risk to be sued if there is any traffic accidents due to this.
Aloha,
Aaron Stene”

Aaron, FYI, her name’s spelled Wille, despite the WHT’s take at the beginning of her viewpoint (it got it right at the end).

Aloha Aaron! Was headed back to Hilo via Alii Drive-South Point this morning and saw the Hokulia Bypass would be open to the public on March 10th…so headed on down and found out it is only open from 3:30 PM-6:30 PM…not well marked at all and I was one of a constant stream of cars having to turn around as we had been misled by the sign at the entrance…hopefully they will end up putting up clearer signage soon.
