CTS Earthmoving Inc. may begin trenching across Palani Road (at the Henry Street intersection and by Kamaka’eha Avenue) to install utility conduits as early as the second week in May. I hope to get a firmer work schedule after I talk to the project manager again on April 27th.
The installation of HELCO’s utility poles is slated be completed by May 31st.

The Queen Kaahumanu Highway widening website has been updated. The current project timeline, design progress, and intersection lane configurations is now available for viewing.

I’m not thrilled about the legislature potentially raising the state vehicle registration and weight fees. However, I’d rather pay higher registration/weight fees instead of paying to fix my truck. I recently had to spend almost $600.00 for new front end wheel bearings and $230.00 for a new tire and fix the front end alignment .
Lastly, Tawhiri Power‘s motion to intervene in HELCO/PGV 8MW PPA docket was denied by the Hawaii PUC on April 12th, 2011.
