The manager overseeing the Makalei Fire Station project recently provided this construction update:
“Project is moving along, see attached photos of dormitory wall panels and other is of entry to apparatus bay. The last of the wall panels were poured last week and scheduled to be stood up in place next week.”

Lastly, the project manager for the Palani Road water transmission project provided this update:
“They should be starting on the fence posts soon but they may get to the upper tank fencing first before doing the tank site next to Palani Road. I understand they were ordering the chain-link wire from the mainland and there is a delay but they need to get the posts up first anyway so they can get started on that portion. Also, the tanks still need to get painted. Eventually, our Kona District will want to paint the small tank (nearest the road) to match the new tank for a more uniform look.
CTS was planning to get water flowing into the upper section of the new transmission line coming down from the Mamalahoa Highway and moving into one of the existing tanks, which is connected to the new line, so that additional water can then serve the DHHL Villages of Laiopua Project. That will probably happen this week so we expect that section to be operational shortly.”
